Make the Switch to Renewable Electricity
Energy supply was responsible for 29% of total greenhouse gas emissions in the UK in 2015 and makes up over 50% of carbon emissions in Lewisham. The move away from coal and gas to renewable sources of energy – wind, solar, hydropower, and anaerobic digestion – is an essential part of reducing our collective carbon footprint.
Since November 2018, we now have more renewable energy capacity in the UK than fossil fuel!
We must insist that our energy comes from renewable sources. There is not much price difference now, and for most people switching can take just a few minutes of your time.
