Climate Action Lewisham (CAL) is an Unincorporated Community Association. See our article of constitution here.

  • We are committed to ensuring any personal data will be handled in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and other relevant legislation.
  • This policy sets out how we obtain, process and store personal data that you have provided to us, including:
    • What personal information CAL collects
    • How CAL uses this information
    • How CAL stores personal information and for how long
    • What personal information CAL shares
    • CAL’s marketing and communication policy
    • CAL’s legal basis for processing information
    • Your rights to personal information you provide

 

  • For the purpose of GDPR, data processing is carried out at Climate Action Lewisham, London SE23 2HA. If you have any questions about this policy, please contact info@climateactionlewisham.org
  • We only keep personal data provided to us with consent by members of the public. Consent is permitted by signing up to the mailing list online (by clicking ‘subscribe’), or by ticking a consent box on a paper form at an event.
  • Personal data we hold is the following, and none of it is compulsory:
    • Your first name and surname
    • Your email address
    • The first part of your postcode (e.g. SE6)
    • Financial details if you choose to pay for access to Lewisham Family Cycling Library using cashless technology.

 

  • We use this information to send you emails about the projects we offer and other relevant public environmental information about our borough, including, if you have signed up to the specific Family Cycling Library mailing list, about news connected to that project. We wish to find out postcode areas to improve the way in which we work across the borough.
  • We comply with our legal GDPR obligations by storing your data securely at the address given above, and on a Zoho account online. Please see below for a link to Zoho’s privacy policy.
  • We will do everything under our control to ensure that your data is not accessed or used inappropriately. Only a small numbers of trained CAL volunteers access your personal data, under the supervision of the data controller (Alice Tate-Harte, Decision Making Committee member). We will not share your data with any other organisation without your explicit prior consent.
  • We will delete all your personal data if you choose to unsubscribe from either of our mailing lists (general mailing list and Lewisham Family Cycling Library mailing list), or if you write to info@climateactionlewisham.org or cyclinglibrary@climateactionlewisham.org explicitly asking us to remove you from our records.
  • CAL sends email newsletters to members of the public in Lewisham and nearby, to share news of environmental events, news, facts, opportunities and new online material, including how to sign up to CAL’s events and offers. Zoho allows us to see who opens our emails, what they click on, and how many times. This allows us to further refine our communications to make them more interesting and relevant to the public.
  • Our legal basis for collecting personal information is that it is given with the consent of members of the public who wish to be informed of our activities.
  • We will update this policy to comply with any changes in the law.
  • You have the right to ask for the data held about you at any time, by contacting CAL.
