The two centennial oaks in Moremead Road, SE6 4LU, are threatened with destruction despite being perfectly healthy, and pre-dating the houses by many years.
The community has been told that monitoring and other management strategies have been undertaken to try and resolve a complaint of subsidence by a local home, but the conclusions drawn have not been shared with the public. This is despite these being trees on public land, and the local public, as well as biodiversity, standing to lose the most from their destruction.
